Certification according to IEC 61508, ISO 26262, EN 50128, IEC 60880, IEC 62304
QA Systems, a pan-European provider of software development solutions, today announces the certification of Cantata – its unit and integration testing tool for C/C++ in embedded systems.
Cantata has been certified by SGS TÜV SAAR as « Usable in development of safety related software » up to the highest safety integrity levels for the following standards: IEC 61508:2010 (general industrial), ISO 26262:2011 (automotive), EN 50128:2011 (railways), IEC 60880:2006 (nuclear power) and IEC 62304:2006 (medical devices).
This independent certification provided as a free of charge certification kit, dramatically reduces the time and cost of meeting the tool requirements of these standards during the software development phase. For any company developing software under these safety standards, Cantata is a natural choice for their dynamic testing needs.
In December 2012 Gudrun Neumann, Functional Safety Team Leader Software at SGS TÜV SAAR, handed the certificate to Jürgen Triep, General Manager at QA Systems. Mr. Triep commented: “Cantata has a long pedigree of enabling customers to efficiently meet safety critical testing requirements. With the independent certification of Cantata, our customers now benefit in time and cost savings from having a pre-certified tool for dynamic testing under all the main safety related software standards.”
After the release of Cantata 6.2 at the end of 2012, QA Systems is pleased to achieve another landmark in the product’s history so quickly.
